Qualification, Age Limit, Pay Scale : Cabinet Secretariat DFO Technical Recruitment 2026

• Qualification: The Educational Qualification (EQ) for the Cabinet Secretariat DFO Technical post is a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, or a Master’s degree in Science, in one of the subjects mentioned in the vacancy table. The degree must be from a recognised University or Institution. The candidate’s GATE paper in the valid GATE Score Card must correspond to the subject applied for.
• Age Limit: The age limit is not exceeding 30 years. Age is counted as on the closing date. The upper age limit is relaxable for the identified categories, namely SC, ST, OBC, Central Government Employees and Ex-Servicemen, as per Central Government orders in force.
• Pay Scale: Level-7 in Pay Matrix

Selection Process : Cabinet Secretariat DFO Technical Recruitment 2026

1. All applications received by the closing date that satisfy the eligibility criteria will be arranged in order of merit on the basis of valid GATE Score, for each subject separately.
2. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of valid GATE Score, in a number five times the number of vacancies, and called for Interview.
3. Final selection is based on GATE Score and Interview.
4. Selected candidates are subject to character and antecedent verification and a medical examination. The medical standard will be as per the Central Government guidelines applicable to Group ‘B’ posts.

How to Apply?

1. Choose one subject out of the notified subjects and note the corresponding GATE subject code.
2. Fill in the Application Form, “Application for the post of Deputy Field Officer (Technical) in Cabinet Secretariat (Government of India)”, printed with the notification. The form must be typed on A-4 size paper and filled in English capital (block) letters using black or blue ink only.
3. Do not leave any column blank. Affix a self-attested recent passport size coloured photograph. Sign the declaration with the date and place.
4. Attach the self-attested copies of all required documents.
5. Put the application form and documents in an envelope and send it by ordinary post to: Post Bag No. 001, Lodhi Road Head Post Office, New Delhi-110003.
6. Make sure the application reaches the address on or before 15 November 2026, which is the last date for receipt of applications.
