Selection Process
Candidates must possess a Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a university or institution recognized by the Government of India or established by law in India.
Candidates who obtained their law degree in or after the academic year 2009-2010 must have passed the All India Bar Examination (AIBE).
Language Proficiency: Candidates must pass a vernacular (Gujarati) language proficiency test, unless they have cleared their secondary or higher secondary examinations with Gujarati as a subject.
Preliminary Examination (Screening Test): An objective-type test containing two papers. Paper I (Law) carries 100 marks (2 hours), and Paper II (Gujarati Language Test) carries 50 marks (1 hour 30 mins). A minimum of 50% marks is required to qualify.
Main Written Examination: A descriptive-type test comprising two papers: Criminal Law (200 marks, 3 hours) and Civil Law (200 marks, 3 hours). A minimum of 50% is required to pass.
Viva-Voce (Interview): The final stage evaluates the candidate’s suitability, carrying 50 marks. A minimum of 40% marks is required to qualify the interview.

Minimum Age: Typically 21 years.
Maximum Age: 35 years for General category candidates.
Age Relaxation: SC/ ST candidates can apply up to 38 years of age. Candidates currently working in the Courts or other Allied Departments can apply up to the age of 40 years.
