Education – SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026
Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University as of the cut-off date, which is August 1, 2026. Only candidates who have specific skills in stenography are eligible to apply, as a skill test is a mandatory part of the selection process.

Eligible Criteria

To be eligible for the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Recruitment 2026, candidates must meet the following nationality criteria:
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, or
A person of Indian origin migrated from specific countries with the intention of permanent settlement
Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years (Born between 02-08-1996 and 01-08-2008).
Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 18 to 27 years (Born between 02-08-1999 and 01-08-2008).
Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwBD: 10-15 years, etc.) as per government rules.
Mode of Payment: The application fee can be paid online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa/ Mastercard/ RuPay cards.
Selection Process – SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026
Computer Based Examination (CBE): An objective type multiple-choice test consisting of General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language & Comprehension.
Skill Test in Stenography: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a dictation test for 10 minutes at a speed of 100 w.p.m. (Grade C) and 80 w.p.m. (Grade D).
Document Verification (DV): Conducted by user departments after the final result declaration.
